         As we embark on what is going to be a historical election, the Will County Young Democrats are in the process of putting together a great list of events and opportunities to help encourage young people to get involved in public service.  Over the next few months I will be traveling the district to let the other counties know about the importance of the Young Democrat Program. Spring Kickoff Dinner a Success
 The YDI held the "All the way in 200"8 kickoff dinner.   Over a 100 people attended and a special thanks to Linda Chapa LaVia for being the master of ceremonies. Will County Young Democrat President was awarded the Rookie of the Year by the YDI. The evening was capped off by the Senator Obama's campaign talking to the state delegation about the exciting news of the Senator's Presidential campaign.

11 Congressional area Elects 3 New Officers to the YDI Executive Board
      Building on the success we had with the last years election, the 11 Congressional District will be well represented on the YDI Executive Board.  Katrina Deutsche,  Magen Ryan and Mike Logan were elected at the "All the Way in 2008" State Convention. The new board will be spending a great deal of time working with the local organizations to help build a stronger presence for young people in our district.
